 Is there any way to learn *nix without the man pages?  Sure, there's the
 internet, but isn't it the case that the internet not *not* supposed to be
 a requirment for laptop distribution (given the fact that internet access
 cannot be relied upon per se)?

 Buying a book is another way to learn, but that's not an option here.

 At *minimum* a subset of the man pages should be included out of the box,
 not just the ability to download it from the internet.  Better yet, a
 local translation should be included. (Has anyone actually translated any
 of the man pages?)
