 A lot of things work everywhere but 1CC!

 Unless you had explicitly registered both laptops with the school server
 at 1CC, you can't blame the jabber server on the school server.  Laptops
 don't currently "discover" a jabber server.

 Please check to see what server ~olpc/.sugar/default/config reports for
 "jabber:" on both laptops, and whether the registered flag is true.

 Network access when many laptops are running, and NOT registered with a
 school server is known to be a problem.  And the board room is currently
 not covered well by the school mesh on channel 1.

 Another likely cause of your problems yesterday is that we are temporarily
 running multiple school networks at 1CC.  One (channel 1) is stable and
 used for laptop testing.  The other (channel 6) is for server testing and
 frequently changes.
