 Strange indeed. I wonder if the device is not showing up on the USB bus at
 all. The kernel messages (type '{{{dmesg}}}') would be interesting, as
 well as the output of '{{{ifconfig -a}}}' and '{{{cat
 /proc/bus/usb/devices}}}'
