Comment(by Eben):

 We do have plans to make this easier, but I think there is still room for
 some discussion on this topic. Here's the current plan:

  - The palette for an activity will contain a "start with" option, which
 will reveal a list with two sections: 1) all of the groups the child is a
 member of (once we have groups; for now it will just have the
 "neighborhood" option) and 2) all of the friends a child has. This will
 make it easy to start an activity in a specified scope, or with a specific
 individual.

  - In the new design, the active activities will be in the frame. We'll
 support dragging XOs from any view onto the activity icon (or vice versa)
 to invite them. We may also offer a means of making multiple selections,
 but that's just an enhancement for advanced use. Additionally, the XOs
 will retain the "invite to" option in their palettes.

 - Finally, the palette for the activity will have a "share with" option,
 from which one can expand the scope of the activity, much like the
 initial "start with" menu. Additionally, we're considering mirroring this
 functionality with drag'n'drop as well, such that dropping an activity
 into a view, such as the Neighborhood view, would share it with that
 scope.
