Do you know if this is for a build with or without some of the recent
palette enhancements (I apologize, I don't actually know what builds they
are in at all.) One of the biggest problems with palettes was that they
would appear on a time delay even when the mouse was still moving, which
meant they would frequently appear for objects even when you were actively
trying to pass over them. I know a fix for this was made which also
required the mouse to be moving below some threshold speed. This should
virtually eliminate accidental activation of palettes, in which case the
explicit action required to hide it isn't such a big deal to me,
especially as selecting an option within it will do likewise.
That said, this is still an interesting idea, given we do already have the
4 palette positions you mention, as required by the edges of the screen.
I'm not sure what it would take to add this logic to the Home screen. I'm
curious, first, about the other palette improvements I mentioned. Would
they be enough to minimize the problem?
