 thanks for the log, thomas.  we've put in a kernel fix that may help with
 this bug, but i'm not sure.  it's in the latest joyrides (2363 or later)
 so you might try that.  but i'm not completely convinced it will help.

 cjb:  in the log, an interesting part (i think) is at around 9:34:45,
 where we set brightness to 15 (i think as a response to keypress) then at
 9:36:20 we set it to 2.
