 Okay, I think that is enough for now, maybe overwhelming.

 I notice my screen brightness keys are not working now, but maybe that is
 because I killed ohm to stop the log from growing.  And the bug is gone,
 maybe for the same reason.

 I restarted ohm using
 {{{
 $ sudo ohmd
 }}}
 and now my screen brightness keys work again, and the bug was still gone
 until I used the recipe to make the bug come back.

 So maybe stopping/restarting ohmd is another work-around?  (For users who
 don't want to reboot.)
