Comment:

 Oh, I see.  I think I knew this would happen.  If we're already in an
 "idle suspend", then closing the lid does nothing.

 I don't think we can fix this easily.  We'd have to expose the lid GPIO
 setting to userspace, I guess, so that it can be acted on differently in
 "suspend" and "sleep".  Hardware people, what do you think?
