 dsd: please start the process of forking hal upstream; we need to start
 making our stable branch, and I'd prefer to carry as much as possible in
 koji.

 Since audio performance is now acceptable, the rest will likely be
 deferred to 9.1, especially if there's a chance we'll get some fixes from
 the upstream kernel when we move to 2.6.27 (veplaini: have the regressions
 been fixed in newer kernels yet?).
