 On first boot after running "olpc-update joyride-2301" I was able to
 connect to my AP fine.  After rebooting I no longer able to connect to my
 AP.  A second symptom was "iwlist eth0 scan" failing.

 Booting the alt image (build 711) and rerunning "olpc-update joyride-2301"
 enabled me to connect again.  I have a log from both this first boot where
 it connected ok, and a later boot where it did not connect ok.

 This seems to work for me as a workaround:
 /etc/init.d/cerebro stop # spams errors when mesh goes down
 rmmod usb8xxx
 modprob uxb8xxx

 The workaround made "iwlist eth0 scan" work and connected to my AP on the
 2nd try.
