Comment:

 I have a machine which is locking up hard on Pippy's "Bounce" (#8052) and
 "Play Sine" examples and which reproduces cahalan's minimal test case.
 I'll bring it in for 1cc folks to dissect tomorrow. 100% reliability of
 crashes in my present environment.
