 I think that's already pretty good, as this patch is not a hacky
 optimization but doing the right thing.

 I think that's not really related to this patch but to something lower
 level. Can you check if it still happens without acceleration? (Add Option
 "NoAccel" "true" to the Device section in xorg.conf) There's already a
 ticket about this but cannot find it right now.
