 Just re-timed activity launching with just riccardo's above patch (no
 other size/interval changes). The average launch savings is unfortunately
 only 0.8sec per activity, though the unpleasant mouse cursor flicker has
 now stopped :-) Note that the patch currently causes an initial icon edge
 cropping visual artefact as the icon appears, related to the zoom in
 animation effect.
