Comment:

 It sounds like, similar to the Journal which reports "Your Journal is
 empty", the Home view should indicate that "No activities are installed".
 Better still, we should add a nice little button under this which says
 "Get activities" (using emblem-download as its icon), which launches the
 Software Update module of the Control Panel.

 I know many people have been scared about the "empty activities"
 situation.  We now have a non-modal alert in this case, I believe.  Do we
 need this in addition?  Should we do this instead?  It does have the
 advantage of bring persistent in the context of the Home view until an
 activity is installed (And doesn't require boot flag magic; we should be
 able to update the view on the fly).
