 I closed the lid, the screen went dark, Power LED flashes once per 5
 seconds.  Then I open the lid, the XO wakes up, and My Battery shows
 Charged at 34% !  '''So rsmith is correct.'''

 I cannot recall doing anything special to trigger this bug, which seems to
 happen in maybe one third of my battery charge/discharge cycles, in
 joyride-2301 with APM enabled.  Maybe it triggers when I use a USB memory
 stick for file transfer?

 What's next?  I will keep watching and fiddling.  My Battery status is no
 longer stuck, it is falling gradually now.

 WiFi still not reconnected automagically, so must click it manually before
 I submit this update...
