Comment:

 Anecdotally, this may be linked to the kernel refresh in the 8.2 series.
 We've got some reports saying that non-XO machines running the latest
 linux kernel seem to hang in OOM conditions, rather than triggering the
 OOM killer; it's possible that's what we're seeing -- although in at least
 one condition my machine froze while in the mesh view with no activities
 running.

 In any case, provisionally assigning to the 'kernel' component.  We'll
 need to catch this on a machine with a serial console or on a known IP
 address to make more progress.
