 There are two crashes we've seen multiple times on machines running
 joyride/8.2 builds.  One is #7968, distinguished by the fact that the
 suspend button still works (indicating EC is still running) and plugging
 in USB devices recovers the ability to input events (indicating kernel is
 still running).

 In the other sort of crash, which this bug tracks, plugging in USB devices
 is ineffective (not even the caps lock light on an external keyboard
 lights up), although the EC still responds to AC presence events.
