 But it makes no sense to me -- as I said in the ticket writeup, it can be
 an excruciating process for me to remove my "permanent" SD card.  And I
 don't want to play around with removing the /security directory from it
 for two boots, then putting it back.

 Would have been much simpler if the 'X' key by itself were recognized if
 the system were secure, but it would take the 'X' key __PLUS__ the
 'square' key to achieve the result when the system is unsecure.
