 I think the best way to do this is to install gdm and to allow the user to
 pick between two different configurations. I'd suggest xfce, because it's
 smaller than GNOME and there is a lot of intersection with Sugar libraries
 and components.

 It's very easy to get that to work in theory. Benjamin played with it and
 run into some issue with Sugar. I'm happy to solve them if we decide to go
 down this way.
