 We believe that #6797 was causing rainbow to crash in the tinderbox.
 Recommendations:

 1. Find some way to fix #6797, or failing that, apply the work-around
 described in the ticket.

 2. Log and ignore exceptions thrown by the Sugar shell service's call to
 Rainbow or kill Sugar so that it's obvious that something is badly broken.
