 transmissions for the reasons mentioned above. But in the interest of
 saving current consumption on the device, we would recommend disabling
 beacons.

 Disabling them is wonderful. They are broadcast noise, they eat power, and
 their transmission may have privacy implications. Probably you don't get
 great network performance near a large school full of beacon transmitters.

 If the beacons ever prove to be useful, let the driver enable them after a
 driver-specified frequency has been set.
