 Well, at the very beginning of the UI design we tried to get one button.
 It had already been decided in hardware, and we couldn't change it.  We
 decided it would be counter-intuitive to provide no use for it. As such,
 while designing palettes (which really work quite like contextual menus,
 in many ways) we thought that the delay system will make things
 discoverable, but advanced users could bypass the delays with that button,
 which neatly reflects the function of the right button on all other modern
 desktops.

 I think, at this point, it's going to have to stay.
