Ah, I'd forgotten that discussion. That might be a winning argument
(especially since it's the easy one to do).
The logic for rotating the ring was to place the active activity always
beneath the XO. While this doesn't mean much in the home screen, it does
mean something in the Groups view, where only one (the active) activity
was going to be shown with each XO, and it was to be shown beneath them.
Of course, this breaks down again in the mesh, where XOs are grouped
around the activity, so perhaps it's not really a worthwhile metaphor.
I'm going to change my opinion on this and say that the current behavior
actually makes the most sense. Any further thoughts on this, Pentagram
guys? I also want to note that I disagree with the "snapping" behavior.
If it can't animate, than it's going to do much more harm then good.
