The heartburn I'm having with this scheme is the issue of which devices to
check. Does the CMOS RAM indication apply only to the NAND FLASH, or also
to USB and SD?
If the former, should the new-firmware check be performed on USB / SD
always? If not, when?
If the latter, and you want to upgrade the FW from USB, do you first have
to do something at the OS level in order to clear the CMOS RAM location?
