 We're not "memory constrained".  We're just being wasteful w/ memory in
 userspace; the journal's eating lots of memory, for example.  I consider
 128MB plenty (even if gecko likes to allocate a good portion of it), and
 256MB more than enough.  The journal consuming most of that is about as
 indicative of a memory constrained system as is my x40 swapping due to
 memory leaks in firefox.

 Probably OLPC should just carry a patch in its tree to turn on
 alloc_bufs_at_load by default.  That's *not* a change that I would be able
 to merge upstream, but it clearly makes sense in this situation.

 buffers like this should not be dragged around by the kernel when they are

 default changed, but I would not expect it to get very far.

 Sounds like a fun challenge, will do.  ;)
