 That solves the aliasing problem.

 Consider a real oscilloscope - if you have a 50Hz sine wave with aplitude
 1 "added" to a 10 kHz sine wave with amplitude 0.1, and view it with a
 time base suitable for the 10 Hz signal, you see the 10Hz signal with the
 line "made thicker" by the higher frequency superimposed - with the above
 system you would see the same.
