I am submitting my Acoustic Tape Measure activity for inclusion in the
build. It is tested and working on build 612; I intend to continue
testing on later builds, contingent on access to hardware.

The .xo is in my public_rpms/joyride/ directory, along with a trivial
changelog. I also attach the .xo, for redundancy.

 From the Criteria for Inclusion

 A. This activity makes available a virtual tape-measure or ruler for
distances from a few centimeters to many meters. This enables a wide
variety of science learning activities. Mako has also requested this
functionality in the context of an eyesight diagnosis activity.

 B. I think it's fun to measure stuff. It's pretty cool to see in
operation. It may also enable a variety of games that require marking out
 a field (e.g. four-square, possibly soccer).

 C. The activity is high-quality. It has been tested to run continuously
for several hundred repetitions without failing.

 D. The UI has been built exclusively for Sugar. The .xo file is just over
20 KB, because it relies only on libraries already present in the build.
The activity relies heavily on the collaboration infrastructure for its
functionality. All user-visible text is internationalized, and a
 preliminary Spanish translation is included.

 E. It's all GPL.

 F. The activity is pure Python, so it is easily modified for other
purposes. The range-finding code is deliberately isolated in a library,
so that it may be reused by other applications.

 G. This activity is quite unique. No other software has attempted to make
 accurate distance measurements.

 H. I hope it meets expectations.

 I. The user interface presents clear instructions, and has only a single
button. Once both users have pressed the button, operation begins
 automatically, in an obvious way.
