 I didn't try Chat, but I did share Write successfully.

 I believe I shared using the activity toolbar, although after that didn't
 work I tried to invite my friend in mesh view.  Not sure I did that
 correct, though -- is anything required other than selecting 'Invite' on
 the friend in the right-click menu in mesh view?

 I'll try to reproduce and attach a log.
