Comment:

 Flood fill is probably a poor term; I don't know the name of the algorithm
 involved, but it does involve many transmissions to ensure the
 multicast/broadcast is likely to reach all nodes.

 This being said, multicast behavior in the mesh could be greatly enhanced
 if the underlying firmware/protocols are aware of IP Multicast groups, and
 know whether or not they need to forward further.
