 The symptoms persist with this firmware, although the behaviour of the
 association LED is different -- it remains on, rather than flashing fast
 as it used to.

 However, USB communication still seems to break down, and we are unable to
 submit commands or packets to the device. I'm trying to capture this with
 debugging enabled again, to eliminate the possibility of driver
 misbehaviour.
