 Record v42 addresses these concerns.

 The activity is still limited to 45 seconds recording time, but prevents
 additional recordings (from the mic, camera, and mesh) when the xo is at
 80% capacity.  Recordings can resume from these channels when space clears
 up.  Checks for space are made whenever the shutter button is clicked,
 when switching recording modes, when requesting a photo over the mesh, and
 when booting up.

 A full disk is represented visually with a string ("Your disk is full")
 and replacing the record button with an insensitive (X) button.

 For the next release we will allow for longer recordings by checking the
 available disk space, and also give children an estimate of how much space
 is available in number of photos, minutes of video, and minutes of audio.
