As discussed on the devel mailing list...

We need a way of packaging a non-Sugar-aware application as an activity
which requires only a minimum of effort. The idea is that a child who
needs access to an activity that is not yet Sugar-ised should be able to
install and run that activity, even though it will not be native-looking
or know about triggering Journal events.

This should be possible with file-system overlays, or with compiling
activities to use a given root (e.g. the activity root), and with some
accomodation in Sugar to support the operation.

This ticket is to track the eventual goal, namely that children be able to
access any Linux GUI application with at most 25 minutes of effort being
needed to package up the application as an activity. 25 minutes is
arbitrary, of course, but we do need this to be easy if students are to
have a rich activity environment available in the initial few months.
