Comment:

 A lot of palette improvements have been going in, which cover most of the
 complaints in this ticket.  Obviously the future integration of a
 touchscreen will require mode thinking and design.  I've added it as a
 keyword to this ticket for future reference into my initial thoughts on
 the matter.
