 So, this is, again, not a cosmetic issue as I see it.  Lack of visual
 indication makes the UI seem unresponsive and unclear.

 Mind you, I'm ''not'' arguing that this should take precedence over most
 of the other bugs being worked on.  However I don't want write-offs of
 "cosmetic fixes" to become a trend, as all of these "little" things will
 go a really long way to making the entire UI feel more intuitive and
 responsive, and I think we should be striving to make these kinds of fixes
 as fervently as the functional ones.  I'm arguing that we need to put more
 emphasis on making these kinds of tickets disappear, perhaps by hiring an
 individual to work solely on them, so that such cosmetic/usability bugs
 get worked on in parallel with the rest of the OS development.

 Both sides of the equation need to balance to have usable software.
