 This won't work in the case of very big files, causing OOM and other
 nastiness.

 Also, activities are responsible for cleaning up those files, and if they
 fail to do so, we'll get again at memory shortage.

 The solution we have devised is for the datastore to create a read-only
 hard link when the activity requests access to the file data.
