Comment:

 Please verify on other platforms with current kernels that this driver
 is/is not stable (since we are running a very up to date kernel).

 If not, then the upstream maintainer needs to fix it (or you).  If this
 blocks your GPS work, I'll consider buying you a new GPS with a different
 serial chip: it just won't make our bug fixing cut to fix it ourselves
 anytime in the foreseeable future.
