 This is redundant with Bitfrost, which should take care of this in non-
 development situations. It would also make development tools such as
 valgrind more awkward to use. One would need to symlink, or hard link, or
 add a trivial execuable to bypass this ineffective-yet-annoying mechanism,
 etc.
