 It has been introduced to set the hostnames to xo-XX-XX-XX where XX-XX-XX
 is the second half of your MAC address.

 This is great however it appears to take effect *after* Avahi starts, so
 Avahi still takes the host 'localhost' which means that your still going
 to hit hostname conflicts,

 And due to bug [http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/1219 Bug #1219], this will
 cause the presence services to disappear.
