 Heh.  I don't want TamTam to run as root even short term; doing a trivial
 suid program that can boost its priority is acceptable to me,
 if there aren't other options.

 I'm wondering how the bug got assigned to you; it sat there moldering
 rather than getting tamtam a short term solution in a timely fashion.
