These are mostly caused by having such a high resolution screen; no other
display on the planet has been at 200DPI.

Yes. I am aware that 303 has some improvements (it is scaling things). As
you said, it still have some problems. The scale gecko is doing decreases
a LOT performance. I prefer to use the old gecko 1.8.
Automatic scaling isnt a good option in my opinion. I think you need a
zoom tool, just like Opera have. By the way, we did a hack to port Opera
for Sugar and we are seriously thinking about using it as the main browser
in the trials here in Brazil. Maybe you should think to use it as the OLPC
browser too. However, Opera is not open source and then we have the same
problem again ...
