Comment (by JordanCrouse):
Actually, the 5536 does '''not''' support OTG
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_On-The-Go), which is technically the
ability to dynamically switch between host and device mode. The 5536 does
allow port 4 to be placed into either host or device mode at boot time,
but after that, the port type cannot be changed.
Moving port 4 somewhere other then the wifi is a great idea for
flexibility in development and debugging, but device mode shouldn't be the
default for production systems, since it will eliminate one of the USB
ports that could be usable as a host. I'm thinking the device mode could
be enabled by a special forth command in olpc.fth. Either way, the UDC
driver should be provided in the kernel.
