 Wouldn't a more common scenario be that sticks are shared? In that case,
 it would make more sense to assign colors to the stick that ideally would
 be derived from the stick usb hardware itself, just like the color for
 access points is derived from their essid. If that is impossible (don't
 know if there is a unique id for each stick), make a color from the
 stick's volume name.
