Comment:

 Perhaps simply flash an unfilled rectangle?  A scaled "screen outline".
 As a transitional reference to the screen you just came from, or are
 leaving for.

 For example, when arriving in Group from Home, or leaving Group for Home,
 one's xo in Group is briefly enclosed in a rectangle, whose shape and
 size, relative to one's xo, is the same as the screen's shape and size
 relative to the Home xo.

 Similarly, one could have an annular wedge outline overlayed, when coming
 from, or leaving for, an activity.  In Home, it would outline the
 activity's actual wedge.  In Group, it would land on the activity icon,
 but still have a shape reflecting its radial extent and orientation as
 seen in Home.
