Comment:

 There's always the problem of being on two separate mesh channels.  That's
 what a school server fixes when it bridges/routes between mesh channels
 for you.

 When the laptops can't find a server, and no other XOs are providing mesh
 portals on any channel, the XO will settle on channel 1 and do a link-
 local mesh with everyone else on that channel.

 You can re-trigger the whole Server->AP->XO-MPP->Local-Mesh process by
 clicking on the circle in mesh view.  If there is no school server, and no
 other XO providing portal capability, then all your XOs should end up on
 channel 1.

 If you connect one XO to an AP though, it'll start portaling for that AP,
 and other XOs will find it and use it.
