Comment:

 pilgrim is now fixed (via a different patch that i'd already started
 working on when you filed this).

 As for shell escaping attacks: this bug was only in the build system, not
 on the laptop itself. If we want to impose naming restrictions on
 activities, that policy would have to be enforced somewhere other than
 pilgrim, so it applied to downloaded activities as well. (But really the
 name was only a problem because the build system is a bunch of nasty shell
 scripts, rather than being written in an actual programming language like
 sugar is.)
