Comment:

 I'll check.  There are a knob or two for controlling how fast the system
 goes into dcon mode that will likely be needed.

 Since randr 1.2 isn't quite soup, the knobs were to be hidden by ajax in
 the XFree86 misc extension.  When we move to the next server, we'll be
 able to do that in a more sane way, and also there will finally be a way
 to control screen brightness from X at long last.  But that won't be this
 month...
