 In freeform views, such as the mesh, rollover palettes should appear with
 their upper-left corner at the position of the cursor (ignoring screen-
 edge cases and text-direction).  Of course, the position of the palette
 must always keep it fully on screen, and so the other corners should be
 used as necessary.
