As we read from left to right, it evokes us a move backwards. But for
people whose language is written from right to left, it isn't easy to get
what this icon is (anyway, even if I'm European, I think it's not
intuitive).

No, you don't remove European-culture-based symbols any more than you'd
remove English support. The European-culture-based symbols are quite
correct throughout most of the world. Symbols need to be localized. You
can use an upward arrow in East Asia and a rightward arrow in the Middle
East. The leftward arrow is correct everywhere else.
