 Go with a slightly more-normal hinge setup for superior durability.

 A pair of hinges, parallel and about an inch apart, could get you a tablet
 mode via 180-degree operation of both. (total 360 degrees) Not that this
 is important though; one can certainly read an "ebook" without
 contortionist hardware.

 Note: kids will '''sit on the hinge''' and worse. A lay-flat capability
 protects from damage. You should aim for at least a bit beyond 180
 degrees, to allow for uneven surfaces. Going seriously beyond 180 degrees
 allows for sitting on the laptop with the laptop on a very soft bed-like
 surface. At that point, you might as well go for a full 360 degrees.
