few times by pressing hard on the trackpad near the corner or edge to
which the cursor tends to jump.

I have purchased 3 XO's for various people, including one for myself. All
three have had this problem, intermittently. The two problems are the
mouse jumping to the lower right corner (with log saying it sets to x=0,
y=0) and occasionally, the mouse tracks a finger that is hovering over the
track pad. Like Twinkle, we can often get the problem to go away by
wiping a palm across the entire track pad several times or by holding a
finger firmly on the track pad. Neither of these solutions works reliably
every time, but so far repeating these and wiping our fingers on something
else have always resulted in a useable trackpad with less than 10 attempts
(I haven't really been counting). The behavior strongly suggests to me
that there is a charge or capacitor problem.
